We have constructed shapes with cubes. We have drawn 3D shapes on isometric paper (and given this for home learning at the request of the children). We have tried to visualise the missing faces of complex models made from cubes (this hurt Miss Heap’s head). We have constructed 3D shapes to test our answers to questions.
What has impressed us the most though this week is the resilience shown by the children. At no point did anyone say they couldn’t do it or showed signs of giving up.
The children have been fascinated whilst learning about flowering plants this week. We discussed pollination, fertilisation and seed dispersal. There were mixed reactions whilst dissecting flower heads but we did point out that the flowers were already dead.
