Indoor PE

This term, we have been doing gymnastics. We have been practising how to move like a gymnast along with various activities. We needed to make a sequence that included: a roll, a plank, a balance, moving like a gymnast and a finish.

Here are some pictures

We hope you like them.

For some reason, it won’t let me add videos. I need to speak to Mr Spencer!

Cross-country

Hi,

My name is Sienna and I am in Y6MB! I used to do cross country but I stopped but then I started again because other people told me I was good at it. There was a race on Saturday 14th October at Parkwood Springs. 190 girls took part and I finished 10th! Yah! I try to push myself to be fit and healthy and achieve a good finishing position. However, it doesn’t matter what position you achieve as long as you take part and enjoy yourself.

Blitz poetry

In Year 6, we have been looking at the Blitz. We have looked at when it happened, where and why it happened, the impact it had in n cities and how cities tried to manage.

We looked online at facts and figures and we looked at the devastation caused and how this affected the population; both physically and emotionally. We the used this to help create poems based on the Blitz. These have been finished and so now we are creating a visual representation of the poem.

Here are some early drafts:

My day at Kelham by Sana

  • My day at Kelham island was amazing, we spotted the worlds biggest steam engine. How great is that? In addition, we saw an earthquake bomb also known as a grand slam bomb. Did you know there was a bomb that dropped onto the United ground from a German plane?

Kelham Island

Yesterday, all of Year 6 made the short journey to Kelham Island to have a World War Two day. It was a fantastic experience.

We learnt more about: the Home Guard; what it was like to be a firefighter, the dangers of working in a munitions factory; living in an Anderson Shelter; the perils of evacuation and much more.

Throughout the day we will upload pictures and get some of the children to post their thoughts and feelings about the day.
